Hi. It’s Mike.

I’m keeping the "reclusive creative director" bit because it sounds professional, but the truth is a little more... medical.

In late 2024, my life took an unexpected detour. My heart decided to start dancing to its own chaotic techno beat—specifically, an episode of SVT and Atrial Flutter. While the doctors were busy fixing the wiring, I found myself stuck on the sofa with a lot of downtime and some uncomfortable truths.

I realized I wasn't getting any younger. I realized my day job left me feeling completely unfulfilled. And I realized that if I was going to have a heart that raced, it should be because I was excited about what I was creating, not because of a medical condition.

I needed a creative outlet. I needed to make something that wasn't a spreadsheet.

Enter: Mugs You Like.

I started creating designs that made me laugh. Designs that were bold, bright, and a little bit sarcastic—mostly to keep myself sane during recovery.

Since the ablation, the heart is behaving (mostly—we still have the occasional hiccup), but the day job is still just a day job. That’s where you come in.
